Sunflower Bakery is a family business established in 2002 in Clare, Ireland. We began producing our baked goods from home to sell at local farmers markets. Since then not only have we opened our own production bakery and adjoining shop but we still attend many farmers markets around Limerick and Clare. One thing that hasn’t changed over the years is our passion and belief in producing high quality, handmade food using only the best ingredients. We take great pride in making everything completely from scratch.
Here at Sunflower Bakery we are a family-first business. It’s been almost 20 years since Vi first began producing and selling food for local farmers markets. Since then the whole family has come aboard to help build our small but flourishing business.
Over the years the core of our business has been selling our breads, cakes and pastries at markets. The Limerick Milk market and Ennis Farmers market have been, and will continue to be, a staple outlet for our produce. In more recent times our shop in Ballycummin, Raheen has opened and we have begun wholesaling to shops, cafe’s and restaurants across the Clare and Limerick region.
As a business our passion lies in our produce. Each loaf is handcrafted using a process that has been refined to produce a substantial, crusty loaf with an open crumb and the sweet character of natural fermentation.
